The Dallas Mavericks enjoyed their biggest purple patch in the last decade, with conference championships in 2006 and 2011 and an NBA Championship in 2011.
With an arena close to the thriving downtown of Dallas and Fort Worth within easy reach, an NBA trip to see the Mavericks offers a great all round American sports travel experience.

Downtown’s Dealey Plaza, The Sixth Floor Museum, JFK Memorial and the Old Red Courthouse: Learn about the life and legacy of President John F. Kennedy and see the infamous Grassy Knoll. Explore the history of Dallas at the Old Red Courthouse and Founder’s Plaza and then go to the West End district to shop authentic Western wear. Also visit the Dallas World Aquarium and Dallas City Hall.
The GeO-Deck at Reunion Tower: The newly renovated Observation Deck at Reunion Tower is a sight for sore-eyes—and that’s before visitors see the 360-degree, breath-taking view of the Dallas skyline. Its highlights include a 30-panel digital information system with interactive features and zoom options, live cameras and the Cloud Nine café.
The Dallas Arts District: The largest urban arts district in the country includes the Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center, Crow Collection of Asian Art and more. Docent-led architecture tours are available featuring Pritzker Prize-winning structures. Catch a Broadway show at the AT&T Performing Arts Centre or see the Dallas Symphony Orchestra at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. The 5.2-acre urban deck park, Klyde Warren Park, offers lush green space with food trucks, lawn games, an outdoor library, concert stage, kid’s playground, a dog park and more.
Southfork Ranch: One of our most visited attractions, Southfork Ranch, is the setting of the famous TV drama, “Dallas.” Visit the Ewing Mansion, take a guided tour of the property and see the “Legends” exhibit with memorabilia like the gun that shot J.R. and Lucy’s wedding dress. Family-friendly horseback trail rides are also offered.
Family-friendly fun at Perot Museum of Nature & Science, Children’s Aquarium, the Dallas Zoo and the Dallas Arboretum: See spectacular gem specimens and dinosaur fossils at the Perot Museum, feed giraffes and take a monorail tour at the Dallas Zoo, romp through the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden at the Dallas Arboretum, and touch live sting-rays at the Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park and much more!
